Admissions open for the PhD/DBA program in Business Administration

The Michigan Academy of Science and Technology announces the opening of admissions for the Professional Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program, starting in May and ending in August 2026, in accordance with the official academic regulations approved by the Board of Directors.

The program is delivered entirely through the academy's electronic platform and is the first of its kind at the academy in its reliance on peer-reviewed scientific publication rather than traditional coursework. The program aims to graduate professional researchers and administrative leaders capable of developing management practices through applied research.

Program Objectives

  1. Develop applied scientific research skills.
  2. Prepare administrative leaders grounded in scientific analysis.
  3. Contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of business administration.
  4. Strengthen the link between theory and practice.

Admission Requirements

  1. The applicant must hold a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field from a recognized institution.
  2. Submit a preliminary research proposal outlining the student's area of interest.
  3. Proficiency in English or the language approved for research according to program requirements.

Duration and System of Study

  1. Minimum: 3 years / Maximum: 5 years.
  2. 100% distance learning.
  3. No compulsory coursework; assessment is based on research progress and scientific publication.

Core Program Components

  1. Preliminary Phase: Preparation of a research proposal and passing the initial defense.
  2. Research and Publication Phase: Publication of at least three (3) peer-reviewed scientific papers related to the dissertation topic.
  3. Dissertation Phase: Preparation of a complete scientific dissertation.
  4. Final Defense: Before an accredited scientific committee that includes an independent external examiner.

Academic Supervision

  1. Each student is assigned a main internal supervisor, and an assistant supervisor may be appointed if needed, with adherence to periodic reports. An external supervisor is not permitted during the course of study, while an external examiner participates only in the final defense committee.

Tuition Fee Structure (USD)

  1. Initial registration fee (non-refundable): $300
  2. Annual fees ($500 per semester, two main semesters per year). Academy graduates receive a 40% annual discount on tuition fees and final defense fee, and they can register via this link to use their discount code.
  3. Final defense fee: $2,000
  4. Documentation fee: $350
  5. Total (distributed over 3 years) $5,650

Note: Academic supervision fees are included within the tuition fees, which have been distributed across academic semesters to make payment arrangements easier through regular installment plans.

Degree Awarding Requirements

  1. The Professional Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degree is awarded upon the following:
  2. Publication of 2 peer-reviewed papers.
  3. Passing the initial defense.
  4. Passing the final defense.

Dismissal from Enrollment

A student's enrollment is canceled in cases of: violation of scientific integrity, poor research progress, or non-payment of fees.
